Vulcan Sports and Entertainment manages the premier sports and entertainment platform in the Pacific Northwest. We provide strategic oversight for multiple athletic teams and venues, including the Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink Field, the Portland Trail Blazers, the Moda Center, and more.

Teams

Boasting a portfolio of world champions, our teams consistently deliver success on and off the field or court.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks joined the National Football League (NFL) in 1976 as an expansion team. Since then they have won 10 division titles, three conference championships and have appeared in three Super Bowls, winning their first Lombardi Trophy in 2013. The Seahawks play at CenturyLink Field in downtown Seattle.

Portland Trail Blazers

Members of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Portland Trail Blazers were founded in 1970. The team's rich heritage includes over 30 playoff appearances, three trips to the NBA Finals and an NBA championship in 1977. The Blazers play their games at the Moda Center in Portland.

Seattle Sounders FC

Winner of the 2016 and 2019 MLS Cup, 2014 MLS Supporters' Shield and four Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup championships (2009, 2010, 2011, 2014), Sounders FC have quickly become one of the most successful Major League Soccer (MLS) franchises since the club’s debut in 2009. Since joining the MLS, the Sounders have qualified for the playoffs every year. The Sounders plays at CenturyLink Field in downtown Seattle.

Blazer5 Gaming

The newest team to the VSE portfolio, Blazer5 Gaming is a professional esports team part of the NBA 2K League. In 2018, the league's inaugural season, Blazer5 Gaming finished as the regular season champion thanks in part to the play of league MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, One ildWalnut. Blazer5 Gaming plays their games at the NBA 2K League Studio in Long Island City, New York.

CenturyLink Field

In the heart of Seattle's historic Pioneer Square, the 68,000-seat CenturyLink Field opened in 2002. Home to the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and MLS's Seattle Sounders, CenturyLink Field was designed to show off the Pacific Northwest's scenery and the city's urban vista. The stadium's roof doubles as weather protection for most of the stadium's seats as well as a tool to maximize the sound coming from the field. CenturyLink Field hosts the world's largest acts, including Beyoncé, Metallica, Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, and U2.

CenturyLink Field Event Center

Home to numerous trade and consumer shows, CenturyLink Field Event Center is adjacent to CenturyLink Field. A 200,000 sq. ft. space, CenturyLink Field Event Center is a favorite for large-scale events such as the Seattle International Auto Show, the Seattle Art Fair and the Seattle Boat Show.

Moda Center

Opened in 1995 on the banks of the Willamette River in downtown Portland, the Moda Center is a versatile arena that has quickly become a city landmark. Home to the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers and WHL’s Portland Winterhawks, the 20,000-seat Moda Center's design, seating, and continued enhancements make it cutting-edge venue. In addition to basketball and hockey, the arena has played host to a wide variety of events such as concerts and other sporting events.

The Rose Quarter

The Rose Quarter in Portland includes the Moda Center, Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Theater of the Clouds, Exhibit Hall, and the Rose Quarter Commons. The Commons, Portland’s largest outdoor public plaza, connects the Moda Center and the Veterans Memorial Coliseum and can accommodate up to 5,000 people for outdoor events.

Veterans Memorial Coliseum

The Veterans Memorial Coliseum is a 12,000-seat arena located in downtown Portland that hosts more than 150 events each year and serves as the primary home for the WHL Winterhawks. The arena, which opened in 1960, was the original home of the Portland Trail Blazers until 1995. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Veterans Memorial Coliseum has seen its fare share of memorable moments including the Trail Blazers' NBA Championship in 1977 to concerts from The Beatles and Elvis Presley.

WaMu Theater

Adjacent to CenturyLink Field in the heart of Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square, Washington Music Theater (WaMu Theater) is one of the most flexible indoor performance spaces in the United States. The theater was acoustically engineered for superior sound quality that makes for an exceptional concert experience.

Theater of the Clouds

Theater of the Clouds is the Moda Center’s theater configuration, specially constructed to include curtains and a one-of-a-kind acoustic cloud, in order to transform the large arena into an intimate setting for shows of 3,000 to 6,500 guests. The Theater of the Clouds has hosted concerts, theatrical performances, and speakers such as Malala Yousafzai and Al Gore.

Seahawks Community Engagement

Using the Seahawks' unique and powerful platform, the team works to educate, empower and inspire the Pacific Northwest's youth, encourage and support our local military communities, promote the safety, participation and community that surrounds youth football, and create meaningful connections between our past and present team and fans throughout the region and beyond.

Trail Blazers Foundation

The Trail Blazers are dedicated to positively impacting the lives of children and families who have been historically underserved, where they live, learn, and play. The foundation gives grants to nonprofits, schools and youth and is funded through meaningful corporate partnerships with Wells Fargo, Nike, Moda Health, and Avangrid Foundation, in addition to revenue from Trail Blazers license plate sales and other fundraising efforts.

RAVE Foundation

The RAVE Foundation is the official charitable arm of the Seattle Sounders and founded to serve the greater Puget Sound community. Its mission is to build small fields for free play and invest in program that use soccer as a vehicle to inspire youth and strengthen communities. By building small fields, the RAVE Foundation provides a place for kids to play freely, be physically active and safe, and to be inclusive stakeholders in their communities.

Dr. Jacks

Inspired by one of the most respected coaches in NBA history, Dr. “Jack” Ramsay, who flawlessly led the Portland Trail Blazers to the 1977 title, Dr. Jack’s is a tribute to this esteemed Hall of Famer. Located just outside the Moda Center’s Southwest entrance, Dr. Jack’s is the perfect bar and grill for pre and post-event celebrations.

Launched in 2017, First & Goal Hospitality (FGH) is CenturyLink Field’s exclusive in-house food and beverage company. Created as part of a continual effort to enhance the guest experience at CenturyLink Field, CenturyLink Field Event Center, and the WaMu Theater, FGH focuses on providing fresh, local and sustainable food as well as superior service and atmosphere in the Pacific Northwest’s premier sports and entertainment facility.
