Seattle’s resilience and spirit of community shine bright during this unprecedented health and economic crisis.

In doing our part to support the vibrancy of our region, Vulcan and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation joined what is becoming an incredible community response supporting those most affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. We launched or contributed to efforts that support members of our community who are disproportionately impacted by the virus. All of our lives have been disrupted by this event, but for many it’s more than just disruption, it’s devastation.

Supporting Healthcare Workers and Our Unsheltered and Underserved Neighbors

We contributed to several funds that prioritize support for the most vulnerable members of our community. Our UW Medicine funding is focused specifically on expanding testing and care for unsheltered people as a critical part of the city’s health response. Our contribution to the Seattle Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Fund supports organizations responding to the needs of local workers and families most affected by the crisis. We also sourced and donated millions of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Washington healthcare workers. Learn more:

Supporting Our Neighborhood Businesses, Artists, and Workers

We are also supporting small businesses and workers in our region. It is critical that we invest in the social safety net necessary to ensure our local businesses, nonprofits, and arts organizations survive the economic crisis caused by this pandemic. The following funds provide emergency aid to workers, such as those in the restaurant and food industry, support the need for food assistance across Washington, help businesses who are experiencing a disruption in their livelihoods and organizations maintaining essential functions so they are positioned to reopen when the crisis is resolved. How You Can Help

We continue to assess ways that we can provide support where it’s needed to help the most vulnerable people in our community weather this storm. If you are able, please consider joining us in supporting our neighbors. We’ll get through this together, Seattle.
